I am seriously pissed about the number of teams that don’t work because of toxic behaviour, blaming and scapegoating, because of people putting their problems onto others and projecting their past negative experiences onto each other.

I grew up on the ashes of Fascism in the communist part of Germany. I grew up with so much shame and regret over what the German people did to their Jewish neighbours. And yet, I often see it in my work and have gained many insights over the years into human behaviour, including the same patterns of othering, blaming, and dehumanising.

How can we find a way to be better together? I know how, and it’s simpler than you think.

I observed this repeatedly: strong teams managing excellent projects with visionary leaders often end up failing. People leave. Projects are delayed. Mental and emotional strain harms emotional and mental well-being.

The problem of misalignment is toxicity.

And it all could be prevented with regular, clear communication. There are simple strategies that keep people from building toxic relationships. Too often, I walk into organisations where conflict is so heavy that one workshop will never cut it. The pile between people has grown too high.

Handling this early creates clarity, alignment, flow, high performance, fun, and well-being. This is what I’m passionate about, not just decision-making optimisation, but creating real alignment before toxicity takes root.
