In our beautifully chaotic world of endless notifications and constant demands, who else feels like their soul is craving a moment of pure, undistracted focus? 🦋
Our lives have become so much faster and fuller. Everyone and everything competes for our attention.
Since I came back from a short 2-week Christmas break, my mind really noticed how bombarded it gets with so much complex and diverse information all day long.
At the end of the day, I feel exhausted, like I have been chased by demands throughout the day. I miss quality time with a single task and a sense of achievement.
So here is what I decided to do for the new year. My New Year strategies to stay calm and focused and enjoy my work are:
1) Strategic Time Boxing 📍I’ve started treating focused work like high-stakes meetings – they get prime calendar real estate. The result? Better quality output and clearer thinking for complex decisions.
2) The 20/20/20 Morning Routine 🌅 Borrowed from neuroscientist Andrew Huberman, this morning rhythm has transformed my day: 20 mins exercise, 20 mins journaling, 20 minutes learning.
3) Communication Boundaries isn’t about disconnecting – it’s about choosing when to be fully present. I’ve found my most innovative solutions come during these focused blocks. 💝
4) Sunset Ritual 🌙 Closing each workday with 20 minutes of meditation. It’s like pressing a gentle reset button for my mind.
The result? When I honor these rhythms, work feels more like flow and less like friction. I’m noticing more moments of joy, clearer thinking, and that satisfying feeling of real progress.
Would love to hear – how do you create islands of calm in your daily storm?
