Transforming Online Training for the University of Queensland: Seamless Virtual Facilitation and Meeting Hosting Services

What We Did for the University of Queensland

Since 2021, we have worked with the University of Queensland’s Sustainable Minerals Institute and the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining. We supported the Centre by designing online live sessions for their training programs, ensuring interactive discussions and collaboration via Zoom. We also provided workshop design, virtual meeting hosting, technical assistance, and online facilitation skills training and coaching for their key lecturers.

Why They Needed Our Services

The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated a shift to online training. The online sessions needed to be interactive and inclusive to ensure that learning could still happen effectively across different cultures, time zones and languages. The transition required significant upskilling in online facilitation. Our expertise was utilised to train lecturers, coach facilitators, design programs, and manage the technical aspects of the meetings, including break-out rooms, whiteboards, and interpretation services.

How We Delivered The Service

Using the Zoom platform, we conducted regular client meetings to assist with program design and coached facilitators to make events highly engaging and effective. We managed the technical aspects of online collaboration, employing technologies like break-out rooms, live interpreters, and online whiteboards to enhance participation and interaction across various training sessions.
