Over the last 3 years, we tackled the challenge of building a Community of Practice across 7 different time zones. Using Zoom with interpreter functions for simultaneous translations was just the beginning. The real game-changer came through regular meetings with strategic breakout rooms where participants from different regions could exchange best practices and learn from each other within this 600-person global team.

Resource sector organisations often struggle with geographical dispersion and language barriers that hinder knowledge sharing and collaborative innovation. When these barriers remain unaddressed, critical insights stay siloed, duplicative work proliferates, and project performance suffers across regional operations.

This year, we achieved a breakthrough by creating a unique Virtual Learning Platform customised with regional imagery for our client’s diverse teams. We’re leveraging AI for simultaneous translations while deepening collaboration and facilitating collective intelligence.

Our partnership divides responsibilities effectively: Collective Insight designs the collaborative meeting experiences, builds the platform and hosts the meetings while our client handles facilitation and community engagement.

We’re celebrating a significant milestone – establishing a unified home for all their virtual global learning and community of practice activities. Everything now resides in one place with bespoke reporting, recording capabilities, and a comprehensive resource library. Together, we’re stepping confidently into the future of global team alignment.

For resource sector leaders struggling with geographically dispersed teams and knowledge silos, this approach offers a proven pathway to cohesive operations and enhanced project performance.
