Are You Living a Value-Aligned Life? World Health Day Reflection 🌱

A value-driven life fundamentally supports our health. Yet how often do we claim to value something only to discover our actions rarely align with those stated values?

As we mark World Health Day, let’s examine the value of HEALTH. Many of us say we prioritise health, but how many consistently go to the gym, eat nutritiously, or prioritise sleep? When our internal alignment falls out of balance, three things happen: our attention becomes fixed and worried, we experience inner resistance, and eventually, we become exhausted or ill.

In the resource sector, leaders and teams who operate misaligned with their core values experience similar patterns. Projects suffer when teams function in states of resistance or exhaustion. This misalignment directly contributes to the burnout, staff turnover, and project delays that plague the industry.

Twelve years ago, I was introduced to a transformative approach called “The My Zone Process” by my business partners from The Zone. Through five structured coaching sessions, this significant process helps you discover your life on a page – including your purpose, values, vision, and strategies to achieve them.
After experiencing this process, my life transformed into the value and purpose-driven business I lead today. Each year, I review my “My Zone Page,” setting new goals and identifying actions that prioritise what I truly value.

For resource sector leaders seeking to create healthier, more aligned teams and stakeholders, this process offers a powerful framework to reduce resistance and build sustainable engagement.
